Allen Park, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions re-signed veteran
offensive tackle Jon Jansen and linebacker Vinny Ciurciu to one-year contracts
on Thursday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 34-year-old Jansen signed with Detroit in June of 2009 after spending his
first 10 NFL seasons with Washington. He played in 11 games last year, making
two starts.

Originally a second round pick in the 1999 draft, Jansen proved to be very
durable, starting every game until a ruptured Achilles tendon caused him
to miss the entire 2004 campaign. He has appeared in 137 career games,
starting 125.

Ciurciu recorded five tackles last season with the Lions. Over eight NFL
seasons, the Boston College product has accumulated 105 tackles and two passes
defensed with Tampa Bay, Carolina, Minnesota and Detroit.
